Using Adobe Illustrator I will be creating two prototypes to ensure that my buildings are able to stand upright on their own. On the top left of the page is the design I have created for the cross-hair technique which would be supported by multiple smaller parts placed into the building. On the bottom left is a slotted technique which involves the buildings having tabs at the bottom which would be placed into a base, similarly to the cardboard prototype.
In terms of engraving my designs back in I would probably have to redraw elements of them following the update in my plans, however for prototyping the engraving I would cut the buildings out and use "Image trace" to turn them into vector files.
Next Steps:
- Send the Illustrator file to the Hatchlab.
- Decide which technique would be best to continue with going forward.
