Tampon Tax
Dad's old shirt, Tampons, Pads, hot glue

Exploring the stigma around Tampons throughout my Fine Art A-level, I decided to travel on the tube in a shirt made from tampons and pads.
​
Although thinking back on it 3 years later the piece feels extremely wasteful considering the cost of sanitary products and the levels of period poverty.

A piece created in response to the work of Ana Mendieta, looking at the stigma around women's bodies and body hair. Using 5 photocopies of a self portrait I "shaved" these until the figure had disappeared.
