Tampon Tax
Dad's old shirt, Tampons, Pads, hot glue

Exploring the stigma around Tampons throughout my Fine Art A-level, I decided to travel on the tube in a shirt made from tampons and pads.

Although thinking back on it 3 years later the piece feels extremely wasteful considering the cost of sanitary products and the levels of period poverty.
Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
Graphite, Acrylic paint, razor
Dimensions: 148.5 x 42 cm

A piece created in response to the work of Ana Mendieta, looking at the stigma around women's bodies and body hair. Using 5 photocopies of a self portrait I "shaved" these until the figure had disappeared.
